The Stack Overflow Questions Widget is a plugin for WordPress which displays questions of a user of Stack Overflow in a widget. The idea behind this is to call as many people’s attention to your own questions as possible to receive a good answer in less time. Because the visitors of your own blog are usually well-meaning, the chances possibly aren’t bad. In any case, I think it is more sensible to show your questions than displaying your reputation or badges.
This plugin is very simple and provides just a widget which can be added to the blog via the widget configuration page. The widget then allows to set all the parameters like the Stack Overflow user ID and the question or sort criterias. Because the widget would directly query the Stack Overflow server on every page request, I implemented a cache which temporarily stores the retrieved questions for one hour. This results in a faster rendering of the widget and avoids unnecessary load. Of course, this also may cause delays in displaying the latest questions asked.
Any feedback, bug reports, feature requests or even code contributions of other useful components are greatly appreciated!
